I have been fortunate to have raced with many great individuals during my time. Team Crank is a team that came to be in the summer of 2008. Now that I mainly race solo, I still team up for certain races with these great racers. This page will show those that have stepped in and raced as a Team Crank member. Thanks to all of you who have ventured into my world of mayhem. I’m better for having met and raced with you.
Paul Loete, aka Peyote, is the gotta move, competitive spirit of the team. Paul brings excellence in orienteering, mountain biking, and paddling to the team. Paul has been racing since 2001. When not racing or training, Paul is a civil engineer and manages a group of the finest professionals in the business. In addition to adventure racing, Paul enjoys coaching, wrestling, road biking, and fishing. Paul’s family includes his wonderful wife Autumn and three sons, Payton, Mason and Nolan. Paul loves the team aspect of adventure racing, pushing himself to the limits, and seeing rarely traveled areas.

Paul has an extraordinary ability, which allows him to share entertaining stories to the team. Paul and Markley have an interesting past together that goes back for many years. Paul has recorded the stories and shares them during the wee hours of the night when the rest of the team is having hallucinations and delusions. Unfortunately those that race with us and others that happen to be around think these stories are created from their own imagination. This is fortunate for Paul and Markley as many of the stories are highly confidential and of the utmost secrecy. If these stories were to get out it could bring them many years in the witness protection program in some far away wasteland.
Past Accomplishments:

George Meyers is a doctor in the U.S. Army. He currently resides in New York with his wonderful wife. George is an avid outdoorsman and got the bug to adventure race. Markley met George in 2008 for the first time when they raced the Untamed Virginia. They ended up winning their division and recently raced in the One Day Xtreme taking third place. George will be an ongoing reserve member for the time being as he is about to be deployed in the future. George brings strengths to the team in the form of running/trekking, navigation and paddling. Team Crank has enjoyed teaming with George and looks forward to racing with him in future races.
